Everyone now, must be knowing about the upcoming next generation Nexus 7 dubbed as Nexus 7 II or K009, as listed by Asus. The device was actually rumoured for Google I/O 2013, but as we all know, Google just showcased the Google Edition Galaxy S4 in the event and no other device, not even the Nexus 4 with LTE Support. And now, an Asus representative has unwittingly revealed the specs of the next generation Nexus 7 on the Asus support page and the reader posted screenshots of the conversation on Google+.
The story was actually like this, someone enquired about the specifications of the tablet K009 (rumoured Nexus 7 II) and an Asus representative revealed it all. According to that Asus rep, the tablet is scheduled to launch before the end of July and will have the following specs,
- 7-inch LED display with 1980x1200p resolution
- Quad-Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 Processor (APQ8067)
- 2GB RAM
- 32GB internal memory
- 5MP rear camera
- 1.2MP front facing camera
- Android 4.3 Jelly Bean (?)
- 4000mAh Battery
- Wifi a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, NFC Enabled
- LTE/WCDMA/GSM support
The best part in these listing is Android 4.3 Jelly Bean which is not yet official. In addition, as the specifications are apparently confirmed by Asus rep, we still suggest you to take these specs as a pinch of salt. Also, if the Asus rep has listed out Android 4.3 as the specs, then we may surely hear some official announcement from Google in coming weeks.
