Samsung Galaxy S5 to come in two versions: Prime and Standard, rumoured for February 23rd announcement

Samsung Galaxy S flagship smartphones are the most anticipated ones from the Korean smartphone maker. The next generation of the smartphone, the Galaxy S5 will debut in March this year and the latest word on the street is that the same will come with a fingerprint scanner similar to what we first saw on the iPhone 5S.

In addition, Eldar Murtazin from Mobile Review, is reporting that the hotly anticipated Samsung Galaxy S5 will be announced on February 23. If you don't remember, he's the same guy who predicted the date for Galaxy S4 launch correctly.

According to KGI research, the Galaxy S5 body will be made of plastic and will feature a 32-bit SoC instead of the previously rumoured 64-bit SoC. It will be built by Validity Sensors which is owned by Synpatics. The smartphone is expected to come with two different processing units.

It will come in two variants: Prime and Standard. The Prime one will come with Exynos 5430 octa-core 32-bit processor and on the other hand the Standard version will have a Qualcomm MSM8974 AC quad-core 32-bit processor under the hood.

Samsung Galaxy S5 KGI Research The Prime variant will come with a 3GB RAM and the Standard one will come with a 2GB RAM. Both of them will come with a 16MP rear camera and a 2MP front camera. Giving it juice will be a 2,850 mAh battery. The Prime version will have a 5.2-inch Quad-HD (1440x2560 pixel) AMOLED display which will have a pixel density of 565ppi. Whereas, the Standard variant will get a 5.2-inch Full-HD AMOLED (1080x1920 pixel) screen with a pixel density of 423 ppi.

Coming back to Mr. Murtazin, according to him, Samsung will announce the Galaxy S5 at a dedicated event in Barcelona on February 23rd at 6PM, a day before the Mobile World Congress kicks off. Murtazin has also revealed that the price of the Galaxy S5 will be same as the Galaxy S4 and will be available in stores by the end-of-April. 

That is all of what is known about the device till now and Samsung is expecting that it will help it combat the iPhone 5S and other flagships with this device. The S4 did not become as popular as it was expected to be, will the S5 follow suite or go on to become a way better device? We shall see.
