Samsung Galaxy Gear support coming soon to Galaxy S3, Galaxy Note 2, and five more Samsung devices

Samsung has officially announced that, they will be bringing Galaxy Gear compatibility to seven more devices. The first device to be compatible with Galaxy Gear was the Galaxy Note 3, and recently, Samsung rolled-out the Android 4.3 update for Galaxy S4, which brought Galaxy Gear support. Now, seven more Galaxy devices will soon be getting an update, which will bring Gear support for the device.

Those seven devices are -- Galaxy S3, Note 2, S4 Mini, S4 Active, Mega 5.8, Mega 6.3, and S4 Zoom.

According to the press release issued by the company, both, the Galaxy S3 and the Note 2 will get Gear support with the upcoming Android 4.3 update, however rest of the devices will be getting an independent software update starting at the end of the month, which will bring Gear compatibility. 

Samsung has also revealed the official change-log of Android 4.3 update for the Galaxy Note 2 and S3. According to the press release, the update will bring easier text input, and updated graphics and multimedia, as well as new updates to Samsung features and applications, including:
  • Samsung KNOX security service (Galaxy S3 3G version will get Samsung KNOX with a platform security only in select countries.)
  • Smart Switch to seamlessly transfer content from other smartphones to Samsung devices
  • HomeSync to store, share and enjoy content securely wherever you are
  • Group Play 2.5 with shared video support 
Samsung has not shared any details regarding the schedule for these updates, but we expect it to get rolled out soon.
