Phablets; That was the term coined for the Samsung Galaxy Note which came with a 5 inch display, bigger than phone's but smaller than tablets. The device was expected to be a failure given the fact that the design was really odd and it was considered that people won't prefer it as it would be difficult to operate it comfortably. Another reason was that Dell Streak, the original phablet, was a fail. But despite all the speculations, Galaxy Note was a hit: a pathbreaking device.
Come October,2012 and you will be able to get your hands on an even bigger beast, the Galaxy Note II which runs on a 1.6 GHz quad core processor. Back when the original Note was introduced, Samsung had no competition in the market due to the odd screen size. But now, customers have a full range of choice, with even low budget phablets jumping in the scene.
The phablets are the perfect screen size for people with bigger hands. It's a breeze to take handwritten notes on the humongous screen and yet the ease of portability comes along. Annotating PDF files and playing games is such a pleasure on Phablets. Don't start thinking that I'm exaggerating about phablets, I got a hands on with the Galaxy Note and the experience was truly amazing. When I got bak to my own 3.2 inch Android, it felt like I was using a Java feature phone with a 1.8" display.
