HTC is working on a new Desire series smartphone which will be powered by MediaTek's true Octa-Core processor, reports ePrice. The smartphone will feature a simple design and will be released in multiple colour options (images below), including orange, red, blue and yellow. ePrice reports that the smartphone would be priced at less than 2,000 Chinese Yuan, approx. Rs. 20680, and will be a part of company's Desire line-up.
According to ePrice, the leaked Desire smartphone will come with a 5.0-inch HD (720p) display, MediaTek's octa-core processor, 1.5GB RAM, 8MP rear camera, microSD card slot and Android 4.3 Jelly Bean with HTC's Sense 5.5 UI on top.
No word on release date or market availability yet. It is not clear if this would be a global launch or it is destined for the Chinese markets alone. If it is for the global launch, then we can expect the smartphone to debut at the MWC 2014 next month in Barcelona.
