As reported, Samsung has officially launched the Samsung Galaxy Grand 2 in India today at an press event in Mumbai. The Galaxy Grand 2, as the name suggests, is the successor of original Galaxy Grand which was launched in India way back in January. The smartphone comes in three colours, White, Black and Pink, and will be available across India in the first week of January 2014.
Samsung has not revealed the final pricing of the Galaxy Grand 2 yet, but according to Manu Sharma, Director of Samsung Mobiles, the device would be priced in between Rs. 22,900 and Rs. 24,900. The pricing will be announced during the time of availability.
Samsung has also started taking the pre-orders of Galaxy Grand 2 in India. The phablet is now available for pre-order from the official Samsung eStore in India for Rs. 2,000. Along with Galaxy Grand 2, Samsung has also introduced its own entertainment store called Club Samsung. Club Samsung offers content in various languages such as Hindi, Punjabi, Bengali, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi and Gujarati.
The store comes included with Music, Movies, Videos, Gigs and Live TV, which are optimized for Samsung Galaxy devices. Club Samsung will be available for Galaxy Grand 2 for free for the first three months, followed by pay for the content.
Coming to specifications, Samsung Galaxy Grand 2 comes with a 5.25-inch HD TFT display, 1.2GHz quad-core processor, Android 4.3 Jelly Bean, 1.5GB RAM, and dual-SIM support. The smartphone also comes with a 8MP AF rear camera with LED flash, 2MP front facing camera, 8GB internal storage with 64GB microSD card expansion and 2,600 mAh battery.
Connectivity series include, WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth v4.0, GPS+GLONASS, USB 2.0 and 3G support. Some of the pre-loaded apps include, ChatON, Samsung Hub, S Health, Group Play, S Travel, S Translator, Samsung Link and Story Album.
