Samsung executive confirms to launch a smartphone with curved display in South Korea in October

A Samsung smartphone with curved display is coming soon, we have heard about this a lot of times. But wait, after such a long wait, it looks possible. Samsung's mobile business head of strategic marketing D.J. Lee, has told Reuters that, they will be introducing a fully functional smartphone with curved screen in South Korean in October.

The comment from the executive came at an event in Seoul to launch the Samsung Galaxy Note 3.
"We plan to introduce a smartphone with a curved display in South Korea in October," said Lee.
Along with Lee, Park Sang-jin, Samsung SDI CEO said that, the new smartphone won't exactly be a flexible panel but rather a curved one using plastic liquid crystal displays because they're strong enough to neither shatter even when dropped on the ground nor need frames.

In January, Samsung showed off few prototype products with a flexible screen and a display that extends from the side of a device. But technology firms have yet to figure out how to mass produce the parts cheaply and come up with display panels that can be as thin as a sheet and highly heat resistant.

There are no more details available about this curved display smartphone, but as we all know October is not so far, so we might here some or the other news about this smartphone in coming days.
